Our client, a well reputed local bank with more than 40 years presence in the UAE, is looking to hire a Lead - Operational Risk and Business Continuity Planning (local), to join the risk department of the bank in Abu Dhabi.
Your missions:
You develop, implement and manage Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities across the bank, across 5 main areas of responsibility:
Strategic Planning
You set BCP goals and targets in line with the bank's goals and measures.
You develop and implement a BCM policy and framework, as well as Crisis Management process in line with standards.
You plan and conduct the Business Impact Analysis exercise (BIA) as well as risk assessment to identify critical processes and build BCP for branches and departments.
You build and incorporate plans (CALL TREES) to manage different events or disruptions.
BCP Training and Testing
You plan and conduct brainstorming sessions with wardens and emergency teams, as well as emergency testing (drills) across branch/back office.
You work closely with other business units to achieve BCM objectives.
You facilitate technology recovery testing in liaison with IT and relevant departments – subject to availability and arrangement from IT.
You facilitate BCP training initiatives in coordination with the HR and conduct firm-wide (branch/back office) trainings on BCP/safety.
BCP Review & Monitoring
You highlight risks and provide recommendations on safety/BCP.
You delegate BCM tasks to other BCM members to achieve objectives.
You review Incidents or Audit observations and find remedial measures; and also review pertinent contracts/SLA and provide BCP recommendations.
You conduct BCM gap assessment on BCM progress compared with BCM policy.
Information/IT Security
You monitor the implementation of IS policy and conduct its periodic review as well as IS testing initiatives, you also periodically review and update on IT security in coordination and following up with IT.
You coordinate and follow-up on Information Security Review and Audits.
Reporting
You report to Head of Risk Management & Controls, on a periodic basis, on BCM objectives and progress, you provide periodic (quarterly/yearly) updates on BCM progress and accomplishments to the management.
You perform a compilation of specific reports following testing or incidents, and handle specific tasks/reports assigned by the Head – Operational Risk & BCP and/or Chief Risk Officer.
Your background:
You hold a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree and any certification in IT/BCP will be a plus.
You have at least 5-7 years of practical experience handling a similar role with 10-15 years of banking experience preferably in IT or operations.
Your skills:
You have proven training and report-writing skills.
You are target-driven and have perseverance to test and implement plans.
You are fluent in English and Arabic languages.
